Who can I contact if my employer does not require the payment of overtime pay x 1.5, or request for 3 or 4% of holiday |

Listen Charles. Contact the Mol. Incidentally, if you were the beneficiary of one of these overtime 'bonus', we know that they are taxable, and the failure of companies to deduct the tax shield is not the responsibility of paying taxes. Unless something is illegal in progress (in addition to violating the labor law), which will appear on your T-4, and will cost you come tax time. So you might want to do some simple math and put aside a little 'to take account of this. Another addendum to Charles on holiday is 4%, but as he said, is due only if they do not provide the 2 weeks of vacation. If you leave less than 1 year, you owe money. At the end of a year that has the vacation time. Until that point, I have actually nothing. |

If they are breaking reports on all the laws of revenue and taxes (which is entirely possible, if they deceive their employees), call the number listed on this site and maybe you can get checked by the Federal Government. A federal tax audit really make their day. To report suspected tax evasion: Mail: Ontario Informant Leads Center 32 Church Street PO Box 3038 St. Catharines ON l2r 3B9 Tel: 1-866-809-6841 Tel.: 905-984-4830 Fax: 905-984-4829 |

Jane's referring to a U.S. agency. In Canada, labor law is a provincial matter. In your case, you must be seeking to contact the Ministry of Labor in Ontario. Their phone number is 416-326-7160. The vacation pay 4% only applies if your employer does not give you a paid vacation of at least 2 weeks each year. |

I work as a security guard for a company here in Toronto, Canada. My employer, a good break 'the rules, for one, refuse to pay overtime, anything past 44 hours per week is in the form of a bonus (which is tax free) on your salary. Another thing is, the management refuses to pay 3% or 4 holiday, that every employer must pay. What agency can I contact to fix this? I am in Canada, so please I am not referring to U.S. agencies, thanks. |
