The public education system is a function of government. The U.S. Constitution prohibits the government from giving any official sanction or preferential treatment to one religion. If the public education system were to honor a Christian holiday, it would be necessary to honor the holiday of any religion represented in the student body. Otherwise, it would be giving special treatment to Christianity and then run afoul of the Constitution. Considering the different religions practiced in America today, too many school days would be lost honor all those on holiday. Christmas is the only exception since it has assumed a rather secular significance, is the biggest shopping season of 'year. |

It says that what is a party. As far as I am aware many / most of the religions have holy days, but other than observing the Sabbath, just specify the holidays (as rest days). Religious holidays are generally provided by governments. |

public schools are indoctrinating on all children in their political correctness. including the pagans mentality. If you think a little ', probably at home to choose the school. |

You need to talk to the Jehovah Witnesses who often pull their children from school when religious festivals are commemorated. Although I am a Christian school I would rather stick to three principles and leave the teaching of religion to the parents. The reason is that there are so many approaches to these (as you can clearly see from this site) that nobody has really given justice in metropolitan atmosphere of public schools. |

What religious holidays? Because those are aware of pagan origin, are in reality and can be and are secularly celebrated. If you are on holiday, but in reality is run by purely religious schools then there is a problem. |

I have a question about the observance of religious holidays in public schools. I am against religious holiday. One reason I have is that we can not allow all types of religious holidays and strikes the public schools' operation: it can not support 180 days of school .. But I can not process this is why I need help, I hope that even to think about why other religious holiday is not supported in the public school system. Thank you, |
