All employers in the United Kingdom are bound by specific rules and everyone has the right to pay a holiday that an employer must provide. I'd chat to ACAS about this, if I were you - I understand that an employer has no reason to refuse the payment of vacation that was legitimately earned, regardless of any proof of state. Here is a link ACAS answers that I hope for you: http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1109 These rules are relatively new in a way that some employers have a 'not quite up to speed on legislation 'may not be aware ... or cynical enough to make a few bob or two out of you!

Most of the 'performance' of holidays including the compensation must be outlined in an employee manual. The manual is universal and applies equally to all employees, but if you were on a 'trial period,' you can not enjoy all the benefits (again, only if specified in the manual).

I just left my job and was entitled to 3.5 days' leave. My employer says not to pay as I was only for a trial period. There was nothing written to say that the offer of work that has been given. He is right?
